Bangalore, Aug 3: After a series of rumours and speculations, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) elected DV Sadananda Gowda as the new Chief Minister for Karnataka in secret ballot. Devaragunda Venkappa Sadananda Gowda became a front runner for the post after former CM BS Yeddyurappa presented him before party high command as his nominee following his (Yeddyurappa) resignation.
The Udupi Chikmagalur MP Sadananda Gowda is regarded as a close aide to Yeddyurappa. He was there with BSY during his (Yeddyurappa) ups and downs and this made BSY to nominate him as his successor.
DV Sadananda Gowda is the President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Karnataka. He holds a clean image and this made BJP to make him the new CM as the party raises corruption charges against the Centre in the ongoing Parliament monsoon session.
58-year-old Gowda was an MLA and worked as deputy Opposition leader in Karnataka. He belongs to Vokkaliga community and holds degree in Science and Law.
