Mumbai, Jul 16: The investigators probing the 13/7 synchronised blasts that hit the tinsel town, has finally identified the owner of the scooter on which the IED was planted. The owner named Bhagchand Das Jain is a Byculla resident in Mumbai.
The scooter was registered in Mumbai. "This investigation is on. We have identified the scooter in which one of the bombs was planted," Union home secretary R K Singh said.
The bombs used were Improvised Explosive Devices made with ammonium nitrate and fuel oil, called ANFO. The sources added that according to experts, it is difficult and dangerous to travel long distances with the prepared IED as it is unstable and can go off by even a slight spark.
The triple attacks at Zaveri Bazaar, Opera House and Dadar left 19 dead and more than 141 injured as revealed by the CCTV footage so far.
