Mumbai, Jul 14: A grim-faced senior BJP leader L K Advani on Thursday, Jul 14 directly drove from the airport to Zaveri Bazar and Opera House, the blast locations that erupted during Mumbai's rush hours on Wednesday, Jul 13. Advani at a press conference said that the serial blasts on Mumbai proves policy failure, not intelligence failure.
Taking government over the blasts in Mumbai, Advani said it seemed that the tinsel town, Mumbai has become a favoured target for terror attacks. "If our policies remain what they have been on terror, these incidents will happen. BJP had said our approach on terror would be zero-tolerance."
Targeting Pakistan for the blasts, Advani said, "Till Pak first accepts and tackles its infra-structure for Pak, we cannot speak to them. Even if Indian Mujahideen caused these new blasts, they get their support from Pakistan."
He also stressed on the fact that India should work to have ISI declared a terrorist organisation. "It must be categorical in declaring that total policy of India towards terrorism hereafter shall be of zero-tolerance. We will not tolerate anything which seems to promote or condone or compromise or disregard any terrorist activity. This should be a basic premise of our relationship with Pak - that it will have to dismantle the infrastructure that it has created for terror," he added.
Advani went to the state-run GT Hospital and met some of those who were injured. He will be visiting the Sir J.J. Hospital as well at Dadar, the site of the third blast. These blasts have left 18 dead and over 141 injured.
