BJP MP Kirti Azad arrested from Darbhanga

Darbanga, Jul 13: BJP MP Kirti Azad has been arrested in Darbhanga, Bihar after he went into hiding.

A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against him by the court after which the MP was absconding.

Kirti Jha Azad is accused of looting and burning down the office of general manager, Bihar State Electricity Board in the year 2001.

Azad was arrested after a case was lodged against him in the Dharbhanga civil court when he along with some followers protested at the electricity office demanding regular power supply and damaged the property, said Vikas Baibhav, District Police Superintendent.

The MP, Kirti Azad will be produced in court, he added.
