Bhatta Parasaul violence: Culprit arrested, Rahul effect?

Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow, Jul 9: The main accused of the violence in Bhatta Parasaul has been arrested from Delhi by the Greater Noida police on Saturday, Jul 9. Police arrested Manveer Tevatia and took him back to Uttar Pradesh from Delhi.

Rs 50,000 reward was declared for Tevatia who was accused of inciting the Bhatta Parasaul villagers in clashing with the police in which many people including a few cops were dead.

Four people were killed and many were injured when a violent clash took place between the agitated farmers and the police. The farmers were on a protest against the Mayawati government over forcefully grabbing farm-lands with a low rate than the actual market price.

Ahead of the crucial assembly election in Uttar Pradesh, Congress has tried to take full advantage of the rage of the aam admi against state government. Congress general secretary, Rahul Gandhi had earlier highlighted the atrocities meted out by the Mayawati government to the farmers who were protesting the governments move on land acquisition.

In his latest padayatra (foot-march) in the state, Rahul visited Bhatta Parasaul and the latest move from the Gandhi-scion is sure to irk the Maya administration.
