6 killed, 29 injured as bus overturns in Gujarat

Rajkot, Jul 9: Six persons were killed and 29 others injured when a private luxury bus overturned in neighbouring Jamnagar district this morning, police said.

The Gujarat Travels' tourist bus, carrying nearly 50 people, was going to Bhavnagar from Jamnagar when it overturned near Falla town, when the driver was negotiating a sharp turn, they said.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, police added. The deceased were identified as Mahendrasinh B Jadeja, Mohanbhai Padhiyar, Madhuben G Vyas, Ghanshyam N Vyas, Markhee D Dangar and Vijaysinh V Jadeja.

New Delhi, Jul 7: Railways today (Jul 7) ordered a high-level inquiry by the Commissioner of Rail Safety into the train accident in Uttar Pradesh which left 33 people dead and 17 injured.A Railways spokesman said the inquiry has been initiated by the Ministry of Railways and it will be carried out by the Commissioner of Rail Safety.
