'T' supporters for no compromise over Telangana issue

Telangana Protest
Hyderabad, Jul 8: The Telangana MLAs, MPs who have resigned from their respective posts are now planning to lead a people"s movement for the cause. They proposed to the party high command either to accept their resignations or announce a clear-cut time-frame for the formation of the separate State.

The Telangana Congress men have returned to the state after holding meetings with senior party leaders Pranab Mukherjee, Ahmed Patel and Ghulam Nabi Azad. They are hoping for the best that the Congress Central leaders might take a decision on the issue after holding talks with the Seemandhra Congress leaders in Delhi on July 12.

The Telangana Congress leaders also claimed that they would not take back their resignations. Asserting that there will be no compromise on the Telangana issue, they strongly and stubbornly claimed that it was the first and last goal for party leaders from the region.

“Till date, the Congress Central leaders were of the view that the state Congress leaders from Telangana region could be 'managed" by offering some positions or posts, and ignored our feelings on statehood demand. Delhi leaders did not expect that the T Congress leaders would resign en masse. In reality, the party high command wants Telangana Congress leaders to go to the people and lead the movement in their respective constituencies so that the credit does not go to TRS,"" a senior Telangana Congress leader observed.
