Telangana: Osmania protestors use buffaloes as shields

Telangana Protest
Hyderabad, Jul 8: While the Posco villagers have adopted the novel strategy to highlight their opposition through children, similarly the Pro-Telangana activists are following their footsteps by pushing buffaloes to the forefront of the battle in Osmania University between students and the security forces. But, fortunately, the innocent animals were not hurt in the stone-pelting and bursting of teargas shells.

In many parts of the region, there were protest rallies even as government employees, lawyers, teachers and workers' unions met to discuss strategies for an effective non-cooperation movement.

"Every Telanganite now feels that they have a role to play to strengthen the movement," said M Kodandaram, Convenor, Telangana JAC.

"We were the first to resign, even before the Congress and other parties. That shows our sincerity and commitment to Telangana. No one can doubt our sincerity," said TDP leader Kadiam Srihari.

The Telangana Telugu Desam MLAs would be touring nine districts and areas in the coming weeks where it had become difficult for the elected representatives to visit while holding on to their seats. They can now face the people is what they find as their victory.
