Jayalalithaa case adjourned to July 14

Bangalore, Jul 8: A special court here today adjourned to July 14 the disproportionate assets case against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. Special judge B M Mallikarjunaiah decided to adjourn the case by a week in view of a High Court order related to the case expected this week.

The High Court had reserved orders relating to a petition filed by Sasikala Natarajan, one of the accused and a close aide of Jayalalithaa, for recalling one of the witnesses in the disproportionate assets case.

AIADMK members enter Mayor's chamber remove Karuna's portrait

Erode (TN), Jul 7: AIADMK workers today (Jul 7) allegedly entered the Mayor's chamber and in his absence, removed the portrait of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and placed the ''official'' one of present incumbent Jayalalithaa. They also removed a portrait of former Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin. A portrait of Karunanidhi presenting the ''Sengole'' (sceptre) to Mayor K. Kumar Muruges, was also removed. They then occupied the chairs in the room and later left for Veerappanchatram and Surampatty Municipalities where they placed.....

Congress slams Jaya's volte face on Prez polls

Puducherry, July 19: Coming down heavily on the last minute volte face by AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa in the Presidential election, the Congress today said the move had exposed her true colours.
