Bangalore, Jul 7: Undoubtedly, Google managed to create a hype with launch of their new social networking website dubbed as Google+ (Google Plus). Though it's in field trial stage, Google+ became a talk in town and social networking geeks are dying hard for an Invite. But those who got an account in the brand new site are experimenting with its features.

Currently, Google is providing a series of numbers to differentiate users. Each Google+ account will have a unique set of numbers. Some of our readers asked the ways to create their own vanity URL or how to personalize the link.
Here is the simple method to shorten and personalize your URL. Just login to the web based app, Google Plus Nick, follow three simple steps and your vanity URL is ready. When we want to share our link with our friends, it's hard to remember the long links. For example, how can we remember this account(https://plus.google.com/u/0/106999682891891425879)? So, just shorten and customize it (gplus.to/nisar)!If you want to personalize it - here we go:
- Login to Google Plus Nick or enter http://gplus.to/ in your browser
- In the 'Nick Name' cloumn, type the name you want to customize (eg - abcdef)
- In 'Your Google+ ID' column, copy paste the numbers from the Google+ link (eg -106889682391871425279)
- Click 'Add' - you'll get your vanity URL with your nickname
