Close shave for Madhya Pradesh Governor, Minister

Bhopal, Jul 7: Madhya Pradesh Governor Rameshwar Thakur and school education minister Archana Chitnis had a narrow escape when a wheel of their helicopter got stuck while landing in a village near here, police officials said today (Jul 7).

Thakur and Chitnis had yesterday gone to Harrakheda village in Berasia tehsil to take part in "School Chale Hum" campaign of the Madhya Pradesh government.

The makeshift helipad where the chopper landed was wet and its wheel got stuck in mud, they said. Later, Thakur returned to Raj Bhavan in Bhopal by road from Harrakheda, the officials added.

Bhopal, Jul 6: The auction-sale of the diamonds of various carats recovered from shallow mines in Panna district is commencing from July 25. Bhopal, Jul 6: Three youths have been arrested for allegedly strangulating a medical representative last week. Those arrested have been identified as Shah Rukh (19), Deep Sharma (18) and Shahawar Khan (20). Police said the three allegedly murdered Uday Ingle, a 36-year-old medical representative, on July 1. Accordingly, Shah Rukh had lent Rs 8,000 to Ingle some time ago, but Ingle did not repaid the debt despite several requests. On July one, Shah Rukh and his friends went to the lodge where Ingle was staying.....

Raisen, MP, Mar 13: Four labourers, including a woman, were killed on the spot and 22 injured, 12 of them severely, when the tractor-trolley carrying them veered out of control and overturned in a valley near Bhartipur, 60 km from this district headquarters today, police said.''The vehicle was en route to Koylajher from Bhartipur. CIB committee to submit report on ragging to SC

MP: Deputy Registrar of Coop jailed for bribe

Bhopal, May 22: A special court of Jabalpur has sentenced Deputy Registrar of Cooperatives Narayanlal Tandon to three years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 for taking bribe. According to official sources, Tandon was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta officials on October 2, 2000 while taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from complainant Vinod Kumar Duggal of Jabalpur. The Deputy Registrar had demanded bribe of total Rs 25,000 for the dissolution.....
