Shopkeeper held for selling T-shirts carrying "obscene" texts

Sirsa (Haryana), Jul 2: Police here arrested a shopkeeper for selling T-shirts carrying allegedly obscene and blasphemous writings printed on the garments.

The vendor was handed over to the police last night by activists of various social organizations who came to know about these T-shirts from a youth who purchased one from the accused, said police.

Police slapped sections 293 (selling obscene objects to youth) against the accused vendor Rakesh (28) a resident of the town.

On Thursday, members of several Hindu organizations gathered at Subhash Chowk and burnt the stock of T-shirt in their possession. The accused was produced in local court, which sent him to two days in police custody.

Mumbai, Jul 2: The prosecution will seek life sentence for Emily Jerome in the Neeraj Grover murder case, said media reports.
