Chandigarh, Jun 28: A 15-year-old young girl of Class X was kidnapped and brutally raped by two men known to her brother in Haryana's Panchkula.

The victim, a resident of Sector 6 area in Panchkula, about 15 km from Chandigarh was somehow taken into trust by the two men who lured the innocent girl on some pretext on Sunday evening, Jun 26.

The victim's statement said that she was taken by the two men in their car and later offered a drink laced with intoxicants to her. Gradually the victim fell unconscious after consuming the drink and was not aware of what was happening with her.

"A medical examination of the victim was done which confirmed sexual intercourse. The samples of the two accused and the girl have been sent to Forensic Sciences Laboratory", said Panchkula's Superintendent of Police, Manish Chaudhry.

"The two youths belong to well off families and so does the victim. The duo were known to the girl's brother. Initially the girl's family was reluctant to come forward with the complaint fearing the incident would be prominently highlighted in the media, but later on decided to lodge a case so that the accused are punished under the law," police sources said.
