Ajit Jogi's son sustains serious injuries after mob attack

Raipur, Jun 24: It was a deadly mob of close to 200 protestors who thrashed the vehicle of Amit Jogi, son of Chhattisgarh chief minister, Ajit Jogi. Amit was traveling to a village, some 50 kms away from Jabalpur town in Madhya Pradesh when he was attacked on Thursday.

His head was apparently smashed with an iron rod and one of his close aides who was traveling with him, Sandeep Sahu is believed to have sustained multiple injuries. Amit was campaigning for the Congress for one of his relatives who is a nominee in the Jabera assembly by-poll.

The attack occurred between 11pm and midnight when the mob went berserk and attacked him. The group primarily consisting of youth were armed with iron rods and sticks. They also burnt down Amit's vehicle that had his personal security officer and other Youth Congress members from Chhattisgarh.

According to inputs from Bipin Kusulia, the secretary to Ajit Jogi, Amit was rushed to a private Jabalpur hospital. Sources in the hospital revealed that a blood clot was found in Amit's right eye and is feared to lose sight in his left eye. His hands and other parts have sustained injuries as well.

The Chhattisgarh CM is making plans to airlift his son to New Delhi for advanced medical attention as suggested by doctors in Jabalpur.

Bijapur, Nov 1: Maoists have killed an abducted Special Police Officer (SPO) in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Monday, Nov 1.The wounded body of the Special Police Officer Irpa Dinesh was found in Basaguda busti in Bijapur district. Chhattisgarh abducted cops are safe: Police

Raipur, Sep 29: All the four abducted policemen by the Maoists are safe and their release is expected soon, a senior police officer said on Wednesday, Sep 29."The four policemen are safe and they are likely to be released soon," DIG Vivekanand Sinha told reporters, quoting information received by the police."Police were making all efforts to secure their release ever since the four were abducted from Bijapur district, which borders Andhra Pradesh, on Sep 19," Sinha said.Sinha.....
