Prevent BJP from misusing money during polls: MP Cong to CEC

Bhopal, Jun 22: The Madhya Pradesh Congress today (Jun 22) complained to the State Chief Electoral Officer, P C Meena about the currency notes worth Rs 2 crore found in a hotel room in Damoh yesterday.

MP Congress General Secretary Capt Jaipal Singh told a press conference that the money found in the hotel could have been used to lure voters for the June 25 Jebera byelection.

Capt Singh said that the party had also sent an email to the Chief Election Commissioner on the issue and demanded steps to be taken "to prevent the BJP from misusing money in the elections."

State Congress Spokesperson J P Dhanopia and Bhupendra Gupta also met the State Chief Electoral Officer.
