Puttaparthi, Jun 21: After the cash seizure scandal, the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust has been trapped in a fresh new controversy when Chetana Raju, Sai Baba's close relative claimed that she is facing a life threat from some of the Trust members.
Chetana is the chairperson of the Eeswaramma women's welfare trust in Prasanthi Nilayam. She claimed that all was not well in the trust. She also complained, "None of the family members has been taken into confidence by Srinivasan. Except R J Rathnakar, who is a Trust member, we were not allowed inside the Yajur Mandir." They were completely ignored by the trust members.
According to sources, the family members and relatives are annoyed by the way the inventory was carried out inside Yajur Mandir. A senior Trust member, V Srinivasan, has been accused of barricading their entry into Yajur Mandir.
In fact, Chetana's brother, Shravan demanded a fresh probe into the cash seizure fix. "Police should conduct a thorough probe in this regard as lakh of Baba's devotees are hurt by the series of allegations involving the Trust," he said.
Presently the police have kept a tight and strict watch over Yajur Mandir.
On Monday, Jun 20, the police produced senior Trust member V Srinivasan's car driver Chandra Sekhar and engineer Sohan Shetty before the additional judicial first class magistrate court in Hindupur. Another suspect and site engineer of Baba's Maha samadhi, Harish Nanda Shetty, was sent to judicial custody till June 27.
