Yeddyurappa-Kumaraswamy taking the battle to the Gods

HD Kumaraswamy-BS Yeddyurappa
Bangalore, Jun 20: With the political scenario in Karnataka resembling a battle of nerves, the two main opponents Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and JD-S leader H D Kumaraswamy are engaging in some swearing of a different kind. Taking their battle to the Gods, with both parties claiming to prove their credibility and transparency in front of the Almighty.

Kumaraswamy has responded to Yeddyurappa's challenge aptly and in the seriousness it deserves by saying that he was ready to go through a narco analysis test to prove the point that Yeddyurappa did indeed try to strike a "compromise" deal with him through one of his aides.

Kumaraswamy was quoted as saying, "I am ready to face any inquiry. I am even prepared to undergo the truth serum test." This comes after the JD-S leader accepted to reciprocate Yeddyurappa's challenge to swear before Lord Manjunatha, who is the presiding deity of the famous temple in Dharmasthala on June 27 over his salvo.

Further stating on the reasons for him taking on the challenge, he added, "Had I not accepted the challenge, people would have suspected my integrity. Lehar Singh, a confidante of Yeddyurappa has already confessed to the media that he did meet me in Bangalore and Delhi. Half truth has come out now. All BJP leaders are aware what are the functions assigned to Lehar Singh by Yeddyurappa."

Kumaraswamy further reiterated that he had not indulged in any sort of mudslinging and was speaking nothing but the truth. It is also known that the former chief minister had written a letter to the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, Veerendra Heggade citing the reasons for him to accept Yeddyurappa's challenge that said, "Yeddyurappa is mixing dharma with politics. Now I seek your guidance. I will obey whatever direction you give me on this."
