Rs 60,000 cr investment made in Haryana in six years: Hooda

Chandigarh, Jun 18: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday, June 17 said an investment of Rs 60,000 crore had been made during the last six years of Congress rule in the state and investment proposals of Rs 1,000 crore were in the pipeline.

This was in contrast to the investment of Rs 40,000 crore made in the state in the period of 1966 to 2005, he said.

Speaking after inaugurating a college at Manesar in Gurgaon district today, Hooda said the state government had taken various steps to bring about qualitative changes in the education system.

According to an official release, he said during the last six years of his tenure, the number of seats in technical education institutes have been increased from 23,000 to 1,25,000.

Hooda said while Haryana was once on the 14th position among states in per capita investment, it was now on the top position.

After Jats, now Brahmins seek reservation

Bhiwani, Apr 11: Close on the heels of Jats, Brahmin Aarakshan Convenor and a former AICC member today (Apr 11) sought reservation for the community in Haryana on the economic criteria.

"Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda should take steps to fulfil the demand as Brahmins in the state are still economically backward," Convenor of Brahmin Aarakshan Umesh Sharma said at a meeting of the community members here.

Hooda condemns reported killing of Sikhs in Rewari in 84 riots

Chandigarh, Feb 22: Amid demand for a judicial probe in to the reported killing of Sikhs at Hondh-Chillar village in Rewari district during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday, Feb 22 said that government will examine the report it sought from the Gurgaon Divisional Commissioner.

"I have asked for the report (from the Gurgaon Divisional Commissioner) first and when it comes we will get things examined...at the moment, a process is already on, under which FIR.....

HUDA to reserve plots for lawyers: Hooda

Karnal, Jan 13: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that the provision of reservation in the allotment of residential plots for lawyers has been made in the sectors developed by Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA). This was stated by the Chief Minister after inaugurated a four storey building of Lawyers Chamber Complex built at a cost of Rs 4.50 crore here. The Chief Minister advised the new-comers in the legal profession to work hard and develop a habit of reading.....
