BJP leader accused in Dara Singh encounter case

Jaipur, June 3: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has presented the chargesheet of Dara Singh fake encounter case on Friday, June 3 where a BJP leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's aide -- Rajendra Singh Rathore has been accused.

Vijendra alias Tilia, Ramkishan Singhani and Devilal alias Debuda, residents of Shekhawati region in the state are the three witnesses of the CBI.

History-sheeter Dara Singh was killed in a police encounter on the outskirts of Jaipur on October 23, 2006. CBI claimed that the encounter was stage-managed at the behest of a rival liquor mafia gang and top police officers and Rathore had colluded in the conspiracy.

Five persons including inspector general of police A Ponnuchami are already in judicial custody while the arrest warrant has been issued against nine others.

Argentinian court releases Quattrocchi on bail

New Delhi, Feb 26: Cocking a snook at CBI's effort to get him extradited to India, Bofors accused Ottavio Quattrocchi today secured bail from a Buenos Aires court on his February 6 detention.The Argentinian court, however, asked him not to leave the country without its permission, sources said, adding that his passport has been confiscated.Quattrocchi, who was detained under an Interpol 'red corner notice' on February 6 at Iguazu International Airport in the Argentinian province of Misiones.....
