Manipur government handicaps media; terror activities on

Imphal, May 29: Manipur, which always faces terror activities, brought down several restrictions on media claiming that the fouth pillar of the country has breached limitations imposed on them (media).

The state special secretary (Home) A K Sinha on Saturday, May 28 issued an order which is enough to handicap state-based media - both print and electronic media.

The Manipur government claimed that media have aired such news which directly or indirectly helped many terror-out fits in the state. The media reports "supported unlawful or illegal activities of various militant outfits in the past some months," stated the government spokesperson while issuing the gauge-report on the media.

Manipur government also urged the media to stop violation such rules and to abstain from such activities which help terrorists and terrorism.
