Maharashtra map
Mumbai, May 29: Congratulating the students passed in the Maharashtra Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) exam, the Minister for Education, Rajendra Darda attributed the results to "copy-free campaign" launched by the government.

"The government had launched the copy-free campaign to curb the act of cheating during the exams", he said.

"During the examination the District Collector, CEO and various other authorities helped in curbing the activities of cheating by students," Darda told PTI.

Clarifying that the government was aware of the results Darda said, "We knew that while adopting this method the passing percentage will be low but in future we can expect good results."

"Amravati which has had lowest passing percentage (48.80 per cent) in HSC results this year is also because of the copy-free campaign," he asserted.

"The campaign was launched on a large-scale in Latur, Nanded and Osmanabad due to which the result is high in Latur (56.57) in comparison to last year," he said.

The state witnessed a passing percentage of 70.69.
