
Nagpur, May 19: A group of Naxalites opened fire on a joint police party in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district on Thursday, May 19, police said.
The firing at the police party, comprising of C-60 and CRPF battalion, started at Nargond in Bhamragarh taluk at 0730 am, Additional SP Rakesh Seth told PTI.
Following this, police too retaliated and the exchange of fire lasted for an hour, he said, adding that no policeman was injured.
A chopper with an additional SP has been rushed to the site of the encounter, Sheth said.
