California, Mar 23: After Microsoft with Internet Explorer 9 and Mozilla with Firefox 4, it's the time for the search engine Google. The Android maker Google has released a new beta version of its popular web browser Google Chrome 11.
Google released the new Chrome icon, but this time it's 2D, and the new beta version includes support for the HTML5 speech input API. The new Chrome 11.0.696.16 to the Beta channel is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Google said that with the HTML5 speech input API, developers can give web apps the ability to transcribe their voice to text. Using this feature, users can speak to their computers through microphones and recorded audio is sent to speech servers for transcription, after which the text is typed out for the user.
New Features on Google Chrome 11 beta:
* HTML5 speech input API
* GPU-accelerated 3D CSS
* The brand new shiny Chrome icon
The new GPU-accelerated 3D CSS allows developers to apply slick 3D effects to web page content using CSS. Google asks us to wait a little for the stable release. Surely, we'll wait for the new. Stay tuned.
