Vijayawada, Feb 22 (PTI) Veteran Telugu film actorMikkilineni Radhakrishna Murthy, popularly known asMikkilinei, died of old age here this morning.
He was 94, and is survived by a son and two daughters.
Mikkilinei was born into a farmer''s family at Kolavennu inKrishna district.
He was a freedom fighter, and also one of the founders ofCommunist movement in Andhra Pradesh.
After attaining popularity as a stage actor through playssuch as Mabhoomi'', he entered the film industry.
He mainly played character-roles and villains, and actedin box office hits such as Tenali Rama Krishna (1956), MayaBazar (1957), Appu Chesi pappu Kudu (1957), Sitarama Kalyanam(1961), Jagadekaveer uni Kadha (1961), Gundamma Kadha (1962),Gulebhakavali kadha (1962), Paruvu Prathiksta (1963),Bandipotu (1963), Nartanasela (1963), Ramudu Bimudu (1964),Pandava Vanavasam (1965).
He also penned a few books on the Telgu film industry.
He had stopped acting in films around ten years ago. PTICOR KRK
