The civic body said it will bring out advertisementsto disseminate the information to the public that there is aprovision of 25 per cent EWS quota in all its 757 recognisedschools under the Right to Education Act.
"Admission in this category is open. As per theprovisions of the Act, these students will be provideduniforms and textbooks free of cost by the concerned schoolsand no fee will be charged from them. These schools would becompensated for the expenditure incurred as per the ratesfixed by the government," it said in a statement.
MCD Education Committee chairman Mahinder Nagpal saidthe advertisements will be published in a day or two. He alsosaid schools violating the provision will face show-causenotices and strict action will be taken if their replies areunsatisfactory.

Another senior MCD leader said the civic agency isplanning to depute primary school teachers to bring more EWSstudents to schools.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi had on February 4announced the schedule for admission at entry level for EWSstudents in MCD and MCD-recognised schools.
According to the Delhi government notification, achild belonging to economically weaker section means a childwhose parents have a total annual income of less than Rs onelakh from all sources and who have been staying in Delhi forthe last three years.
Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit had on February 2 saidthe MCD has been told to implement the EWS admission processin true spirit as it is mandatory with the enforcement ofRight to Education Act. The MCD will furnish a list ofviolating schools so that action could be initiated, she hadsaid.
The MCD had then said notices are being issued toMCD-recognised primary schools, asking them as to what stepsthey have taken to implement the 25 per cent quota.
