Hooda govt takes up illegal mining issue with UP

Yamunanagar, Feb 18 (PTI) Haryana Chief MinisterBhupinder Singh Hooda today said his government had taken upthe issue of illegal mining, especially in Yamunanagar area,with the Uttar Pradesh government.

A written communication to this effect had been sent toUttar Pradesh by the state Chief Secretary, he told reportershere.

To a question, Hooda said there was no dearth of fundsfor strengthening the network of roads but there was shortageof construction material because the Supreme Court had bannedmining and the issue was pending before it.

On the formation of a separate Sikh body in Haryana onthe lines of SGPC, he said the recommendations of the ChatthaCommittee, set up for the purpose, were being examined. PTICORR RKC
