"The delegates should persuade the world powersincluding the United States to facilitate a settlement of theKashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes and willof the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir," the Mirwaizsaid in his address to the 59th National Breakfast Prayer(NBP) in Washington on Friday.
"We need to use weapons of love, compassion andsympathy to overcome the hatred, anger and animosity," hesaid.
The Mirwaiz said Hindus and Muslims have livedtogether for centuries in Kashmir.
"It is simply because the people of Kashmir believe ina pluralistic society based on fairness, justice andco-existence," he added.
The Mirwaiz and his delegation met representativesfrom more than 40 countries, a spokesman of the Hurriyat said.
