Witchcraft haunts BSY; Opposition ridicules

BS Yeddyurappa
Bangalore, Jan 31: The Karnataka chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Monday, Jan 31 claimed there was a conspiracy to eliminate him by taking recourse to black magic. He also added that he has no guarantee for his life and not even sure of returning home after going to Vidhana Soudha.

The chief Minister who is already reeling in number of controversies, courted another fresh controversy on Monday. Yeddyurappa's statement immediately drew ridicule from the Opposition parties and his remarks are likely to increase the political pressure in the state.

"There is a conspiracy to finish me off, and those who indulged in 'black magic' to unseat me from power but failed are indulging in it," Yeddyurappa said.

The Opposition Congress and JD(S) slammed the chief Minister's statement by calling it as “sham" and accused him for practicing black magic to continue in power, despite, the scam charges against him.

The state Congress chief G Parameshwara said, "if the chief Minister himself says there is threat to his life, what protection he can give to the state's people?"

Yeddyurappa said that he was neither scared nor would be cowed down by such attempts and would complete his term of five years.

Last year on Oct 11, the chopped chicken heads and vermillion smeared pooja articles were found strewn near the Vidhana Soudha. This incident fueled rumors that it was part of witchcraft. Yeddyurappa had then blamed the opposition for it.

Meanwhile, Congress Leader Siddaramaiah said "it is he who indulges in such things."

BSY is the biggest mistake and equally big shame on the state of Karnataka. It seems that he has taken it as a challenge to be the most corrupt Cheif Minister ever in India and to top it he excells in getting out of crisis by returning the stolen state loot (The land he stole) and thinks that he has done a great favor on Karnataka citizens. He has also diminished himself with the fact that he claims, while he is accused in land scams, BSY is defending himself by saying that he was only doing...
