22 traders killed in Dehradun bus accident

Dehradun, Jan 6: A bus accident near Dehradun in Uttarakhand killed at least twenty two businessmen and their family members.

Over 19 people have been injured in the accident.

The mishap occurred when the bus, which was going to Haridwar from Mussoorie, skidded off the road and fell into 50-feet-deep gorge. Most of the victims died on the spot.

The injured have been admitted to Doon Government Hospital.

Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the chief minister of Uttarakhand declared one lakh rupees each compensation for the close relatives of the deceased.

West Bengal: Jnaneshwari Exp hits buffer, 5 injured

Kolkata, May 14: At least five persons were injured when 2101 Down Jnaneswari Express hit the buffer of a platform, while entering Howrah station today. Railway officials said the train hit the buffer of platform number 20 at about 0530 hours adding that the passengers were in the train. Among the injured were the driver and the guard of the train who were immediately sent to Railway Orthopaedic Hospital for treatment and.....

This is really a very bad news. Yestarday, I was coming from rishikesh. suddenly i heard about this bus acident One of the people said this was happen beacause the driver was drunked at that time. I think Uttrakhand govt. should have to take some action aganist these drivers.
