Mumbai, Dec 27: The Mumbai airport has been put on high-alert after intelligence reports suggested that one of the four Lashkar-E-Toiba militants who had entered the city might try to escape today.
The suspected LeT terrorist Mehfooz Alam is on a look-out notice and sketches of the terrorists are displayed everywhere. The authorities are searching frantically and is investigating all those who have fake passports or have suspicious identities. The militants entered Mumbai just before Dec 25 and planned a massive strike during Christmas-New Year celebrations in the city.
The Joint commissioner of police (crime) Himanshu Roy had earlier said, "We have learned that four LeT members, identified as Abdul Karim Moosa, Noor Elahi, Waleed Jinnah and Mahfoos Alam, have entered the city to cause major destruction and violence. We appeal to people to inform the police if they spot anyone resembling the person in the picture.The four persons are in the age group of 20 to 30 years. The four persons are planning violent attacks that is going to cause destruction."
The NSG unit is also on stanby for any emergency situation. Mumbai has been on high-alert earlier during Ganesh Chathurthi and Eid festivities.
