Bangalore, Dec 10: The Rajeev Chandrasekhar- Ratan Tata spat seems to get nastier by the day. After both parties wrote open letters voicing their concerns and judgments on the 2G spectrum scam, Thursday, Dec 9 saw the state of affairs turning a little more murky and above all political.
Yesterday, the name-throwing and blame-game saga attained new heights. Ratan Tata accused Rajeev of "embarrassing the PM and the government" through his remarks. Rajeev in his interim reply to Tata's accusations said that his arguments were "intensely personal and revealed feeble motives".
Rajeev has been vehement in his response and said that he would respond to the "allegations, claims and innuendo- chapter and verse in the public domain".
The corporate spat has catapulted to a political potboiler with BJP and UPA coming to loggerheads on the points raised through the letter. Rajeev maintains that "this is no war and don't want to make it petty". The comment raised when Tata accused Rajeev of staying in The Taj hotel to prevent WLL liquid mobility. "When I'm not sure that the chairman of a Hotel group now keeps track of who stays in his hotel, and for how long, it is a bit, disconcerting. So, maybe the next time I stay somewhere, I'll stay at the Oberoi," Rajeev said in reply.
Rajeev also mockingly said that Tata ducked the main issue and attempts to shoot the messenger, talking a leaf out of Assange's infamous comment.
