Samsung unveils dual display Continuum smartphone

New York, Nov 9: World's second largest mobile phone manufacturer, Samsung has announced the launch of new Galaxy dual display smartphone, Continuum in New York.

Samsung Continuum has a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED display and a secondary 1.8-inch 'Ticker Display' below it. The Ticker Display is dedicated to show social network feeds, news and alerts.

This Ticker Display can be activated by squeezing the grip sensors at the sides of the device. Users can read news and social feeds on the Ticker Display while the phone is in stanby state and this feature helps to save battery.

Samsung Continuum runs on Android 2.1 OS and use Microsoft"s Bing as the primary search provider. It is powered with 1Ghz Hummingbird processor. It also boasts a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash.

Samsung Continuum will be available in United States through Verizon by Nov 11, 2010. The price and international availability are not yet announced.

Google to unveil mobile strategy, alliance

New York, Nov 3: Google Inc will unveil its mobile strategy on Monday, including a phone operating system and a broad alliance with multiple wireless service providers and handset vendors, people familiar with the matter said on Friday. Sources said the Google mobile operating system would be based on open-source Linux code, which will support applications from different software developers in addition to Google's own services, which include e-mail and mapping. Its partners include Sprint Nextel Corp, Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile USA, Motorola.....
