Rahul demands "clean minister" for Maharashtra

New Delhi, Nov 9: Following the resignation of Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said that Congress is looking for a minister "who is clean."

"The chief minister should be someone who is capable and can deliver," Rahul added.

Resignation of Ashok Chavan had popped up speculations over next Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Congress High Command accepted the resignation of Ashok Chavan and Suresh Kalmadi on Tuesday, Nov 9.

Chavan's resignation came after media revealed Adarsh Housing scam, where he recommended his relatives and friends for the Adarsh Housing Society flats that was meant to be reserved for Karghil war widows and veterans.

Suresh Kalmadi resigned the post of Secretary of the Congress Parliamentary Party. He was the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Commonwealth Games, which was marred by corruption allegations.
