New Delhi, Oct 30: Following the speculation over alleged involvement in Adarsh housing scam, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Saturday, Oct 30 offered to resign from the post after he met Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
The 51-year-old Chavan became chief minister on Dec 8, 2008 after Vilasrao Deshmukh made his way out in the wake of 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai.
Mr Chavan said he has placed before Ms. Gandhi all the facts relating to the housing society and that he had welcomed the CBI inquiry into it. “Whatever the facts (that come out of the probe) should be made public," he said.
Meanwhile, Mrs Gandhi has asked senior party leaders and Union Ministers Pranab Mukherjee and A K Antony to submit a report on the Adarsh housing society scam in Mumbai.

Sources said Mrs Gandhi was deeply upset over the entire affair including the fact that three of the chief minister"s relatives were allotted flats in the Adarsh Group Housing Society that was meant for the families of Kargil war victims.OneIndia News
