2 NSCN(K) rebels arrested in Assam

Diphu(Assam), Oct 27: Two NSCN(K) rebels were arrested along with arms on Oct 26 from Diphu by the troops of 5th battalion Rajputana Rifle said, Assam police.

Sources said an arms deal was supposed to take place between NSCN (K) and KLNLF after which a combined taem of the army rushed to the place and arrested them at the wee hours at Lahorijan market.

They were identified as Vitokhu Sumi and Botaho, who were from Nagaland.

Kamrup (Assam), Dec 6: With a fresh outbreak of bird flu in poultry being detected in Assam, authorities are prepared to start the culling of thousands of chickens.Reports say the virus has spread to the districts of Barpeta and Nalbari from Hajo in Kamrup District, where it was first reported. New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Assam Company Ltd (ACL) has begun delivery of oil from its operated field in Amguri to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) refinery in Guwahati, Assam, about 115 km away.
