Bharat biotech launches swine flu vaccine

Hyderabad, Oct 18: Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech has launched India's first swine flu vaccine on Monday, Oct 18, under the brand name of HNVAC.

Indian vaccine maker Bharat Biotech said in its release that HNVAC is the vaccine manufactured in cell culture which will control the reproducing process of eggs.

After carrying the clinical trials in three different phases (phase I,II and III) Bharat Biotech has clammed that the vaccines is hundred percent safe, tolerated, effective and even affordable.

Bharat Biotech's Chairman and Managing Director, Dr Krishna Ella said the company is proud to developed swine flu vaccine and the company's main aim was to make the vaccine easily accessible.

HNVAC will be made available in the private market and through government agencies also, he added.

Earlier, in Oct, Bharat Biotech received the approval from the Drugs Controller General of India to launch HNVAC vaccine.

Swine flu (swine influenza) is a disease of pigs. It is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by one of many Influenza A viruses.

Symptoms of swine flu in humans are illness, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort.
