AASU withdraws blockade against Nagaland

Golaghat( Assam), Sep 24: After Nagaland suspended a top officer who was involved in the firing of AASU members, the All Assam Students Union on Friday, Sep 24 lifted the economic blockade on NH-39.

AASU executive member Jatin Bora told sources the blockade was lifted temporarily from 2.30 am following the suspension of Company Commander of the India Reserve Battalion (IRB) and announcement of Rs 5 lakh to the injured by the Nagaland government.

Bora further said the blockade would, however, be re-imposed if action was not taken by the state government based on the report of its inquiry committee.

The Nagaland government  expressed that they regretted its police action and assured not to create such problems between the two states.

Assam Company commences oil delivery from Amguri field

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) Assam Company Ltd (ACL) has begun delivery of oil from its operated field in Amguri to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) refinery in Guwahati, Assam, about 115 km away. The oil is being sold at the same price as a basket of crude oils with similar characteristics traded in the international market, a company release here said. The oil produced from Amguri is first trucked to Oil India Ltd (OIL) facility at Moran.....
