Tata Docomo launches QWERTY mobile @ Rs 5,499

Mumbai, Sep 23: India is becoming the land of mobile phones. The major brands like Nokia, Samsung, LG and SonyEricson along with the Indian brands strengthened mobile phone market in the country. The handset industry has grown exponentially with 108 million mobile phones sold in 2009-10.

The latest kid in the mobile phone market is Tata Docomo, one of the leading service provider. On Thursday, Sep 23 Tata DoCoMo has announced the launch of its first co-branded handset in India. The new phone, OneTouch Net is made by Alcatel.

OneTouch Net is an QWERTY keypad handset with 2.4-inch display with support for a host of social networking websites. It will be more attractive for the social networking lovers with different applications. It is fully customized for Yahoo services and supports services like Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Messenger, Yahoo Search with Voice, Yahoo Social Pulse and Flickr image service.

It also has a 2 megapixel camera, a dedicated key for Tata Docomo Dive In WAP and FM radio and Bluetooth. It has an internal memory of 80 MB which can be expanded upto 8 GB using micro SD card.

"Living up to our strategy of Doing the New and bringing innovative services and solutions for our customers, we are pleased to announce the launch of the first Tata Docomo Co-branded device, 'OneTouch Net', which is a Tata Docomo-Yahoo-Alcatel phone," said Mr Deepak Gulati, President of GSM and 3G at Tata Teleservices Limited.

OneTouch Net is available in two colors 'White & Lavender' and 'Black & Silver' and will be priced at Rs 5,499.
