
Mumbai, Sep 9:The Nifty ended on a positive note and maintained 5600 level on the fourth consecutive day on Sep 9.
The Sensex closed at 18799, up 133 points and the Nifty was at 5640, up 32 points.
ACC, Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel, SBI were among the top gainers with 3.26 pc, 2.50 pc, 2.46 pc, 2.07 pc up respectively.
Power Grid Corp, Tata Motors, Reliance Infra, Cipla were among the top losers with 1.88 pc, 1.75 pc, 1.41 pc, 1.35 pc down respectively.

Sensex up 100 points; Infy, ICICI, L&T support
Benchmark indices as well as broader indices continued to trade in the green on sustained buying in banks, capital goods, realty and power stocks.
At 2: 10 PM, BSE Sensex was at 18,776.25, up 109.54 points and NSE Nifty was at 5634.05, up 26.20 points.
The BSE midcap and smallcap indices were trading with half a percent gain each.
Infosys, ICICI Bank, L&T, SBI and HDFC Bank were supporting Sensex in its uptrend.
Among the midcaps, BASF, Mahindra Holidays, KEC Int, Guj Gas and Coromandel Int gained while MVL, IndraprasthaGas, Radico Khaitan, Birla Corp and Binani Cement lost.
Vindhya Telelink, Shasun Chemical, Parekh Aluminex, Karuturi Global and Heritage Foods were smallcap gainers. However, Subhkam Capital, Saint-Gobain, Andhra Cement, Kothari Product and Standard Industries dipped.

Mkts continue green; RIL, HUL, Airtel gain
Despite a bit of volatility, Nifty continued to trade in the positive territory on support from rate sensitives. Sensex also continued trading in the green.
At 12: 30 pm, BSE Sensex was at 18,729.10, up 62.39 and NSE Nifty was at 5616.55, up 8.70 points.
While NTPC, Reliance Industries, HUL, SAIL and Bharti Airtel gaineds, the chappiness in the trade was due to Reliance Communications, HDFC and Tata Steel along with healthcare, cement and private power companies' shares.
Among the top gainers were SBI up 2.17 per cent; HDFC Bank up 2.05 per cent; M&M up 1.85 per cent; ICICI Bank up 1.48 per cent; NTPC up 1.38 per cent; Idea Cellular up 1.71 per cent and HUL up 1.44 per cent.
The losers were Cipla down 1.74 per cent; Sterlite Inds down 1.38 per cent; ACC down 1.26 per cent; GAIL down 1.25 per cent; Ranbaxy Labs down 1.05 per cent; Hindalco down 0.91 per cent and Tata Power down 0.86 per cent.

Nifty opens green, continues uptrend for 4th day
Nifty continued its uptrend for the fourth consecutive day on backing of buying in financial, telecom, Tata group and select auto shares.
At 9:01 am, the Sensex was trading at 18759, up 93 points and the Nifty was at 5631, up 23.5 points. The CNX Midcap was up 61 points or 0.7 per cent to 9091.
Among the early frontliner gainers were HUL, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Hero Honda, Reliance Communications, Reliance Industries, Suzlon Energy, DLF, M&M and SBI.
However, on the negative side, ACC, ONGC, Sterlite, Infosys, HCL Tech and Ambuja Cements were reeling under pressure.
The day's new listing, Gujarat Pipavav was trading 23.26 per cent at Rs 56, against issue price of Rs 46 a share.
