Mumbai, Sep 8: A year after the Bollywood star, Shiney Ahuja's name was sullied by rape charges, the 'victim' maid has now reportedly told the court that the actor never raped her.

The 20-year-old maid told a fast-track court that she had slapped false charges on the actor, a private TV news channel, CNN-IBN reported.

The domestic help has told the court that she lodged the police complaint against Shiney after the woman who got her the job with the Ahujas asked her to do so.

Shiney Ahuja was arrested on Jun 14, 2009 after the woman accused the actor of forcing himself on her and threatening her against speaking out about the incident.

He had to spend about three months in prison before getting a bail on Oct 1, 2009.

However, the new twist in the case has raised questions as to why Shiney confessed to raping his maid on Jun 17, 2009. Besides this, DNA evidence and medical reports had confirmed rape.2009 Recall:

The court has posted the next hearing for Sep 15 and Ahuja can still be convicted based on other evidence. The maid also faces the threat of being prosecuted for perjury if her latest statement turns out to be false.
