Strike paralyzes Indian banking sector on Sep 7

Strike hit Banks
New Delhi, Sep 7: The banking sector of India has been partially affected by the all India strike, called by Trade Unions on Tuesday, Sep 7.

The shut down through all over the nation affected the banks mainly in the areas, where unions like CITU have stronghold including West Bengal and Kerala.

About 5 lakh members of the All-India Banks Employees" Association (AIBEA) are supporting the nation-wide strike call given by various trade unions.

However, State Bank of India officers and employees unions are not part of the strike.

The nation wide strike was announced over major issues like price rise, the disinvestment policy of the government and violation of labour laws.

it is all india strike called by 56 organisation where bank employees are meagre. However bank strike is an effort to fight against the price rise and disinvestment policty of the govt.
