Left-ruled West Bengal, Kerala worst hit by strike

Strike
Thiruvananthapuram/Kolkata, Sep 7: The nationwide 24-hour strike being observed by trade unions on Tuesday, Sep 7 has affected Left-ruled states of West Bengal and Kerala more than the other states.

Industry and commercial sectors took a hit in the southern state of Kerala, where an air of bandh could be noticed as roads were deserted.

With the transport sector joining the one-day strike, buses, autos, trucks and taxis are off the roads while shops and other business establishments remained closed.

However, power and water supply have not been affected by the strike. Train services are also running smoothly.

Similar scenes were reported in West Bengal as well.

Aviation sector was the worst hit by the strike with Jet Airways and Jetlite cancelling 70 flights and Kingfisher cancelling 29 flights to and from Kolkata.

Roads were deserted as state and private bus services were suspended. Shops, business establishments as well as educational institutions were shut.

However, train and Metro rail services continued normal.

Why are the communists even allowed as a party? Communism and Democracy don't mix. If the commies ever come to power across the country- they'll do the first thing any commie govt does - kill democracy!! Its how they work! My suggestion is to derecongnize communists!
