3 cops are alive: Naxals to Bihar govt

Patna, Sep 4: Day after Maoists killed one of the four Bihar policemen who were hostaged in Lakhisarai, 150 kilometres away from Patna since the encounter, naxals claimed that remaining three cops are safe in their hands.

When Naxals left the body of Hawaldar Lukas Tete in the jungles of Lakhisari district, they left a note which threaten to kill all three remaining cops if eight of their comrades are not released from jail.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has called an all-party meeting on Saturday, Sep 4 to seek a political consensus on the action to take and bring the three policemen home.

The killing of Lukas Tete has increased the pressure on Nitish Kumar to act fast. The families of the remaining three hostages are also mounting pressure on the Chief Minister to secure their release.

Sheohar, May 23: Two people, including a woman, were electrocuted at Dalit Basti early this morning when a live electric wire fell on a hut.
