Now, Rs 1 crore needed to open SBI account

Hyderabad, Sep 3: Now the high networth individuals (HNIs) have to give only Rs 1 crore minimum to open an account in the government lender, State Bank of India (SBI).

SBI has inaugurated first-of-its-kind branch for HNIs in Hyderabad on Sep 2.

However, the money is not enough to have the account but the applicant has to have go through a tough application process.

The official from SBI informed, "We have opened as many as 50 accounts so far. We are confident of opening another 150 by the end of the current fiscal."

"The lockers are open 24 hours. People can come anytime and take or keep their jewellery and other valuable items," stated bank official.

He also continued, "We have special dressing rooms for customers. These will be useful for late night function goers as they would not have to take the valuables home."

However, it is very much clear that the new move by SBI is targeted the crorepati of the country.

SBI's Personal Banking Branch offer good service. The normal branches are tough to visit
