Kin, supporters, Cong leaders pay homage to YSR

Kadapa, Sep 2: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's kin and supporters gathered together on Thursday, Sep 2 to pay homage to the Congress leader on his first death anniversary.

Congress MP and the son of the late CM, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, YSR's wife and Pulivendula MLA YS Vijayalakshmi and other members paid tribute to the departed leader at 'YSR Ghat" inside the family estate at Idupulapaya.

Among the Congress leaders who paid tribute to YSR were Rajya Sabha member and YSR"s close friend KVP Ramachandra Rao, Congress MLA Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali while Union Law Minister and AICC in-charge of party affairs Veerappa Moily is expected to come to Idupulapaya later in the day.

A supporter of the late leader arranged a helicopter which showered flowers on the site where he was laid to rest.

Arrangements have been made to feed about one lakh people inside the estate and special buses have been arranged for the convenience of the people to reach Idupulapaya.

Jagan has temporarily halted his controversial 'Odarpu Yatra' to stay at the family estate till evening. He is also scheduled to unveil a statue of his father at Proddutur in Kadapa later.

YS Rajasekhara Reddy died in a chopper crash on Sep 2, 2009 in Andhra Pradesh's Nallamalla hills.

AP Govt to hold PATA conference from Sep 16

Hyderabad, Jan 29: The Andhra Pradesh Government will organise Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Conference from September 16 to 19 in the city. According to an official release here, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy took the decision at a review meeting chaired by him in which the State Tourism Minister A Ramnarayana Reddy and officials concerned participated.The Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to make the conference a success by making fool-proof arrangements.
