Bangalore, Aug 31: At the setback when the whole world especially the Indian IT companies are worried about US H1-B, L1 visa fee hike decision, Infosys came up with an 'extreme offshoring' model to decrease dependence on those visas.

According the year ended result on 31 Mar, 2010, Infosys' onsite revenue were around Rs 10,461.32 crore (46.7 percent) and offshore revenues were Rs 12,121.5 crore, (53.3 percent).

However, the company said that it has capability to increase its offshore utilization capabilities to 95 percent, Business Standard reported.

According the company, the intention was to prepare the company to face an extreme situation should negative sentiment brewing in the US intensify further.

Pilot programmes have been conducted by the company with a couple of clients in the US.

The outcome of the programme has proven the model, which is expected to have a far-reaching impact on the delivery of IT services.

By sitting at remote offshore locations, the company successfully transitioned outsourced projects to India.
