Gill criticizes Premji over his CWG comment

MS Gill
New Delhi, Aug 30: Sports Minister MS Gill criticized Wipro chairman Azim Premji over his comment on Commonwealth Games funding provided by the central government.

Gill asserted that the industry should look what it was doing for sport, before criticizing others.

Premji in a recent article in a leading national daily had said that the thousands of crores of rupees being spent on Games could have been used for building schools and improve infrastructure in the poor parts of the country like Bihar.

Outrageous Gill said, "Let (Indians) industry look what they are doing. The sportsperson of the country need money. My (message) for big captains (of industries) is that they should come forward."

Taking Bill Gates' instance how he contributes money for US prosperity, Gill claimed that the Indian Industry also should contribute towards promotion of sport and spokespersons.

Premji with a personal wealth of $17 billion, is second richest person of India.

Well the sports minister doesnt understand that what CWG doesnt help indian sports/sports persons anyways 1. The sports infrastructure is created in Delhi; whereas 90% of sports clinics for different sports happen in either bangalore or Patiala....so who is using them after games is a question mark 2. The money spent on one sporting specticle could have been better used to build sports infra across india...which would have helped grassroot youth to take sports 3. Also i could understand...
