Manmohan Singh to visit CWG sites on Aug 29

New Delhi, Aug 29: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit the Commonwealth Games sites on Sunday, Aug 29.

Manmohan Singh is expected to visit for an on-the-spot inspection of the facilities and state of preparedness. The official told the Prime Minister expressed his wish to visit the sites when he chaired the meeting of ministers and senior officials on Aug 14, just 50 days before the Delhi mega event.

On Friday, Aug 27, Group of Ministers (GoM) extended the deadline for the completion of venues from Aug 31 to Sept 15.

Earlier in Aug, Prime Minister issued clear instructions that the facilities for the Commonwealth Games should be made ready in time and meet international standards as the eyes of the world were on the country.

Sorry, Mr. Singh. The 'eyes of the world' are not on the CWG but on the brazen loot by the country's "servants of the people". Please get out of your ivory towers and allow the summarily thrown out 3,50,000 vendors at Sarojini Mkt, Uttam Nagar, etc. to run their businesses to feed their families. The Kalmadis can, simultaneously, continue to loot for nothing will ever happen to them. At least, earn the goodwill of hungry people.
