B'lore: Teacher accused of abusing girls for years

Bangalore
Bangalore, Aug 28: The Karnataka State Council for Child Welfare (KSCCW) has received a complaint of physical and sexual abuse committed by a teacher of a reputed government-aided school here.

Class 10 girls of the school affiliated to the Ramakrishna Mission were reportedly harassed for years by their Hindi teacher, identified as VS Rathod.

The abuse came to light last week when KSCCW received an anonymous letter from one of the student's neighbour on the matter. On pursuing an investigation on the complaint, child welfare council found some shocking details.

In the audio tapes of the girls narrating the incidents of abuse, played by a private TV news channel CNN-IBN, the victims are heard saying that the teacher touched them in a "bad way".

"His behaviour was not right. He called me 'dil ki dhadkan' and asked 'kuch kuch hota hai'? And while we wrote on the board, he'd hit us on the back," said a girl.

A team led by Nina P Naik, chairperson of the KSCCW, interacted with students, and almost all the girls said that they had, at some point, been abused, reported a newspaper.

“We visited the school after receiving an anonymous complaint. The girls said their Hindi teacher would ask them to stay back after school, grope them and say lewd things. This has been happening for two years," Naik is quoted as saying in DNA.

these girls will never get justices nor will the culprit be booked, because Karnatak is a criminal state. The Home Minister knows only two sentences..1-we will initiate an enquiry....2- the law will take its course. and nothing more.that is why there is somany broad daylight killings by gangs with lethal weapons prowling around. here the government and police officials give tacit approval by stooping to regional fundamentalism and money power
