Bangalore, Aug 27: The fifth Banglaore International Film Festival and open platform on water began on Friday, Aug 27 and will conclude on Aug 30 2010.
Best selected films will play at 6 venues across the city, including songs, photo and art exhibitions, installations, water walks and interactions with water activists and film director.
The festival seeks to reach out to students, professionals, activists, organizations and the general public not only for the awareness of global warming but also to intricate the fabric design of the festival.
The organisers are Bangalore Film Society, Alliance Francaise de Bangalore, Samvada, Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy and Actionaid, Environment Support Group (ESG) and India Southern Region.
Some of the events to be conducted in the festival are essay competition on Water and Environment, painting, photography exhibition and art installations.
Four venues for the events are Alliance Francaise, Thimmiah Rd /Badami House, NR Road /YWCA, Koramangala/MES College, Malleswaram.
